[Amc-list] Help diagnosing 4.0 loss of compression

even if it was a broken cam, some valves would be
open, some would be closed. you would still have
valves hitting pistons REAL bad then, and still have
compression on the cylinders with the closed valves.
on these 4.0's, are the rockers shaft mounted? is it
possible that the shaft has come loose to not allow
the rockers to push the valves down? that would
"theoreticaly" (sp) cause no compression as no valves
open/close to allow movement of air. i still think it
has to be something to do with valves. not cam. there
are always open valves, closed valves. all positions.
tom did bring up a good point. BAD COMPRESSION GAUGE??
maybe try a second gauge?
