Now you got your Rambler mentality hat screwed on correctly. If you've been reading the posts from this list you should have noted that several members of the list actually sell Hi perf AMC parts and rebuild engines too. Nick Alfano and Davis Martin have been throwing some very good information around lately about AMC engines, as have others, I hope you've been reading. You need to find a competent engine machinist/builder to work on that 401. Don't let some fly by nighter touch it. If you get the combination correct you should easily see scary power out of that 401. The best part is the blocks have high nickel content for better durability and the crank and rods are forged steel from the factory. Keep reading posts and asking questions, you'll be impressed with what you learn.
