I had a friend back in 78-79 that bought an honest to [insert higher power here] 67 Caprice or Impala. 2dr hardtop loaded with a 427 in it for $75!!! I could be off a year or two. he found it while working a road cleanup crew as summer job. They'd been clearing along a road and he saw it sitting by shed, so he went back after work and saw the fender badging!!! The woman who owned sold him "that old thing" for that measly $75! He towed it home and got it running. You guessed it, he pulled the engine and junked the car! It was a nice car too. He then offered the engine up to me for $300!!! I turned him down. It was 78-79 and that was big money to me for a chebbie motor... Of course I actualy bought a 71 Torino that someone had transplanted a 428CJ motor trans and rear into for $175! It was sideswipped but repairable, I pulled the engine and trans and sold them, sold the N case 31 spline rear. Junked the body... -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "Armand Eshleman" <aje1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > I would agree with you Mark, the trouble seems to be that Ambo's aren't > getting the interest that the other cars are.
