About the only thing you can get is a Pertronix conversion. If they don't have it listed order one for a 63 Falcon w/200 six (or 170 -- both use the same basic distributor, just curved different). The AMC L-head uses an Autolite distributor which is internally the same as the small Ford six (except for advance curve). You could use something like an MSD6AL box, but that's probably overkill. It's an electronic conversion but keeps the points. Only a small voltage goes through the points, so they last virtually forever. No worries about point bounce on a slow turning L-head six! ------------- Date: Thu, 24 Apr 2008 06:41:49 -0700 (PDT) From: Joe Smith <know_ware@xxxxxxxxx> What is the best and most affordable electronic ignition for a 1961 L head?? -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
