Wranglers up thru at least 96 never got the voltage drop resistor either.
I take it to mean they did the voltage drop for noise and not life.
The Wrangler has more tank to body seperation with the full frame, plus the owers of the Wrangler are more willing to accept noises like a fuel pump running.
   Yeah, an external pump without the voltage drop resistor is noisy.
Someday maybe I'll do something about it...
