In my opinion you (unfortunately) will always get more for the parts that you would for a "project" car. However, if you are not in a hurry I would give the car wide exposure for sale as a project car. Let someone else part it out, but give it a chance to survive as a whole vehicle. I have parted out several cars and I have saved several so I know how it feels to lose money by selling a project. I also know the good feeling you get when you think you have found the right buyer who will save the car. Advertise it locally with car clubs as a father/son thing. Don't forget craigslist in your area and just keep renewing the ad. It will cost you nothing, except perhaps for some time in telling Nigerian scammers to get lost. If you are prepared to spend a few bucks, put it in Hemmings and put an ad on Ebay.
