[Amc-list] Saving 258/304/360 blocks. Scrap or sell at Cordova?

Armand... I am in the same dilemna. I have a shop
full of engines and 3 cars I am scrapping. Only one
has a title so I am thinking of loading it up with
engines and parts from the other two. Armand, you
coming to Cordova this year?
It seems you can't give away a 304 anymore, but then,
every once in a while someone will pop up and pay
hundreds for one! Even a good running 360 can be hard
to sell for more than $200. So many are dumping their
258's to make strokers, theres a lot of good blocks
going to waste... but if noone wants them, they're
just paperweights!
So, what should I do? I am here in SW MO and, though
there are a lot of Jeep guys, most are going the Chv
350 route or building stroker 6's. Should I just save
the cranks and rods from these 304's and 258's and
scrap the blocks? What about the late 80's 360's with
lo cmprssion heads?
I think I may wait until Cordova. Drive my Wagoneer
and bring my AMX on a trailer this year so I can sell
some engines...Maybe I can run them on my
test/break-in stand for anyone that wants to hear
(front half of a Wagoneer frame with Caravan rear
axle!).
Then again, I have seen plenty of guys heading home
from Cordova with the same junk in tow!
Thanks in advance for your response!
Jesse
