[Amc-list] Removing hub from drum - press, hammer or replace

Okay - the left front drum on my car was simple. Just take off the
wheel, back off the brake adjuster, and the drum came off. Replacing
it was simple. Right side - not so simple. I can't get the hub away
from the drum. No luck with a hammer. I priced out pressing out the
hub. Fifty bucks at one shop. Ninety two bucks at another. So - are
replacement hubs available? I didn't see them at Rockauto or
Napaonline. I'd like to try and determine if it would be better to
press it our or simply replace it.
I used a rubber mallet. I used a 10 pound weight on the studs. I lined
a fifty pound dumbbell up over the center of the hub and hit the
dumbbell it with a ten pound weight. I think I either need to press it
out or replace it.
I did not hit the studs with a cold chisel yet - I'm thinking the
studs are swaged. Not sure if a 1500 pound press would "convince" 'em
to let go.
The other side of the question: since the drivers side hub just slid
right off, it wouldn't be swaged. Does it need to be? Or do the bolts
take care of that.
