Re: [Amc-list] EFI 82 Spirit

I haven't personally done it, but I advised a guy who put a HO engine in a Spirit. He used the HO intake and stock Spirit brake booster. It's close, but there's enough clearance once in the car. Goes in a lot easier if the booster is out of the way though! I had to install a new MC in my Jeep J-10, so removed it and left it off while installing the 4.0L head. Sure was glad that thing was off while putting the manifolds on! Next time I'll do what I originally planned (but didn't do!) -- install the intake and exhaust manifolds on the head while it's out of the vehicle, then use my engine hoist to set it in place! Used the hoist to set the head, but decided to put the manifolds on later because I wasnt' sure of clearance issues with some things, like the PS bracket I had to remove and cut a chunk out of to clear the exhaust manifold.

For those who have done it, does the HO intake fit easily into place without brake booster mods?
