Frank. You got that right. I grew up cutting trees and firewood. My dad was a farmer when he was young and his dad had a saw mill. 
   I was using a chainsaw when I was 12.

My vote is just stupid, everyone hasn't grown up in the country where cutting firewood, clearing pasture, cutting trees off/away from fences, and keeping field edges cut back is routine.

When I was a kid a friend's father and friend were cutting 3-5" pine trees from my buddy's yard. We were going somewhere, and I saw what they were doing. I told the guy doing the cutting he may want to make a cut on the front side of the tree and not just on the back. He just said something like "leave me alone kid, I know what I'm doing". Okay, no problem! I was only 15-16, but had helped cut a lot of firewood by then. Right as we were getting in my buddy's car to leave, I watched the pine tree split and kick up in the fellows face, busting his nose but good! Pretty sure it broke it. With the relief cut on the front, it wouldn't have split and kicked up like that, but what did I know?

Yeah and I always park my truck beisde the tree I'm cutting down too :]

I figure it was staged

If you listen you can here laughter in the background.

Course the vantage point was way to close also, so maybe their just stupid.....
