Note the GM 4 cyl has to be '8? and newer also (they used Chev SBC pattern before that) Caddy FWD motors from @'84 went with the same bell pattern. The bell will work for EFI AMC 4 cyls with 4 or 5 speed. You'll need the flywheel to use the EFI. (Someone stole the new one I got for the '86 MJ I was putting a new motor into last spring before my rollover accident) From: Frank Swygert <farna@xxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [Amc-list] Clean Comanche in Local Yard To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <47F591E0.6010907@xxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Would be a great engine for a Gremlin or Spirit! Won't fit the early American, but it would be a great econo engine for a 64-69 American too -- weighs about the same as the Commanche pickup. Unfortunately the bell and trans will only fit another Jeep four -- or a Chevy four or small V-6. Should be a T-4 trans, or an AX-4. ------------- Date: Thu, 3 Apr 2008 14:14:42 -0700 (PDT) From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> It's an AMC 4-cylinder 2wd 1988 model (Sept 87 build) and it has the 4-speed manual tranny. Anybody need any parts? What would the clutch/bellhousing fit? It's really a clean truck. Nice vinyl interior. Yard prices have gone up, so I can't be sure of the parts prices. -- Frank Swygert _________________________________________________________________ More immediate than e-mail?
