[Amc-list] Steering gear Bolt start and Russ's 75 AMX?

Use a wire to hold it up. I used to have a coat
hanger with a bolt wrapped on one end to keep it from
pulling through the frame. Feed that through the top
frame hole , then through the gear box hole, then wrap
the other end around something in the engine
compartment (I think I used the power steering or smog
pump bracket).

Then, get the other two bolts tightened up where they
pull the box near the frame, remove the wire put in
the last bolt.

Now, I am a fairly beefy guy and have never felt the
need to do this with one of the AMC passenger car,
however, when working on an FSJ with lift and tall
tires, my arms weren't long enough to get it all done
comfortably.

Hope it works for you.

Russ, can you post a pic of your 75 AMX? I am
thinking this was an April Fools dealor is there
really an AMX I have never heard of?

It was from the posting below:

Joe; to install the pump and serp, just reverse the
proceedure. I have everything boxed up waiting to
trade for Spirit parts (hint, hint).
Then you can follow the TSM on hooking things up.
I still have the CCM behind the kick panel, and I will
be pulling that soon. I have a cover from a 75 AMX to
put in its place, so I will have the kick panel cover
also. Make me a deal.....Russ

And you thought I wasn't paying attn!

Have a great week!

Jesse
