If you'd spent a little more time on the Jeep site you'd have found a link to Affordable Fuel Injection. Story on the site was about a V-8 conversion, but AFI has I-6 kits also. A "DIY" kit for $575 contains everything BUT the computer and TBI unit (junkyard items), including the PROM chip... but no tech support. A full kit with everything is $1345. Doesn't say, but I'm pretty sure it's a 2V unit. Holley used to make a 350 cfm 1V TBI system, but apparently has dropped it. Could only find a 670 cfm 2V system on their site (good to 275 hp, but too much for a 196... might be okay for a 258 though, since cfm doesn't matter as much on a EFI system as a carb...) I'd talk to AFI about the DIY kit using the 2.5L 1V TB. They should custom burn you a PROM for it. Might take a couple tries to get the PROM perfect, but some of the guys are real familiar with the GM systems and get it right the first time. It will at least run on the first try PROM though. ---------------- Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2008 16:45:51 -0700 (PDT) From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> On Tue, 18 Mar 2008, Joe Smith wrote: > Very well documented and great reading in general!! > http://www.certifiablejeep.com/howell_fuelinjection1.php Oh why'd you post that, I just wasted an hour poking around on www instead of working :-) Yeah, the Howell system does seem best over all.
