I forgot about mentioning the fuel pump and return line as well as an adapter -- thanks Joe! The good thing is it's not a high pressure pump like a sequential system uses, but is much higher than a mechanical pump (GM TBI needs around 25 psi). I wouldn't make an adapter though. Just get a 1/4" piece of aluminum plate long and wide enough to cover the intake "trough". Use an intake gasket to mark the bolt holes. Drill a large hole in the center for the TBI, and use countersunk screws up through the intake to mount the TB. Might want a spacer between the TB and intake, but that's optional. That's essentially what I did when I made a two 1V intake for my 196 years ago (I still have that if anyone's interested, it's made for two Carter YF carbs... drop me an e-mail), except I happened to have a 1/2" thick piece of aluminum handy. I put a bit of sealer on the screws used for carb studs, and never had a problem. ------------- Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2008 12:04:08 -0700 (PDT) From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> I think it would be "fairly" easy to put a throttle body fuel injection on an old Rambler. You would need the TBI of course and an adapter for the TB to the intake manifold, an electric fuel pump and return line into the fuel tank (or fuel filler neck which might be easier). If you wanted a closed loop system, you would need to mount an oxygen sensor and the brain box compatible with your TBI system. I think one of the TBI systems on a GM Iron Duke or similar sized system might make a fairly easy swap. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
