" 10W-40? Heavier? Lighter? Added zinc? Canola from the doughnut machine
" (with doughnuts properly filtered with coffee)?
it's a '65 right? with a full-flow oil filter?
i'd use 10w30 unless it's really hot where you are, and then i'd go
for something like 20w50, and if i couldn't get a high zinc oil like
the walmart accell i'd add gm eos to every change. keep the zinc to
'60s/'70s/'80s levels!
it may not still be true, but back in the '80s i discovered 10w30 oil
lasted longer than 10w40, because the viscosity extenders wore out
quickly and it didn't rely on them as much.
if you drive the car regularly and put a lot of miles on it a year,
mobil 1 high mileage or the like might be worth it, but otherwise i
think the cost of synth would be too much.
