This should be a question for your machinist. there is no substitution for the real thing and you MUST check with the parts you have at hand at the machine shop.

I know that you can run the Big Valve 2.02/1.68 heads on a 290/304, but have to notch the cylinder walls for clearance and valve unshrouding ... something I don't want to do or mess with.

I am planning to run 1.94 / 1.50 valves in the 304 heads, but if I can fit 1.60 exhaust valves with a 0.050" overbore 304 (3.796"), then I'd like to run the slightly larger exhaust, if possible, on the 323 CID stroker I am building (390 crank).
