What you have is a Motorcraft 2150. They are good carbs, but yours is probably worn out. The easiest to find equivalent replacement would be a 500 cfm Holley 2300 two barrel. They can be found on e-bay and will pretty much bolt up. You might have to work a bit on the linkage, but it shouldn't be hard to find one and bolt it on. The "kick-down" linkage also controls pressure in the transmission -- it MUST be connected and adjusted properly. If you have a problem with the rod type factory linkage, Lokar makes a cable kit that many Jeepers use. It's the Chrysler cable -- same transmission except for bolt pattern to engine. If I were you I'd swap out the intake manifold to either a factory 4V or Edelbrock Performer intake and use a 600 cfm 4V carb. Not only will you have more power when needed, but it will deliver better economy due to the smaller primary side of the carb. Of course it all depends on how you drive, but there will be better throttle response and more low speed torque as long as you ease into the gas pedal. Stomp it and economy will go down the drain, of course! ------------------- Date: Fri, 29 Feb 2008 14:24:03 -0500 From: "Thomas, Jeff" <jeff.thomas@xxxxxxxx> AMC Team, I have a nice 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with a 360 2BBl carb. The carb is the original Ford 2BBL that came with the car. It's starting to run really rich. I paid a shop to rebuild it but it's running rich again and I'm past my warranty. This has been a chronic problem with this carb for about 2 years. Can anyone with experience with an aftermarket 2BBL make a recommendation ? I switched my 71 Javelin AMX from a stock 4BBL carb to an Edelbrock aftermarket and it runs great. I can't see where Edelbrock makes or sells an equivalent 2 BBL however. I would love to hear from anyone who has a Wagonner and has done this switch successfully and has some information to offer. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
