Didn't know the bolt pattern changed Andrew! All the T-96s I've had dealings with are 63 and earlier. Tom's is a 63 American, which has the bell housing rear mounts. Even the 63 Classic T-96 I had used the small bolt pattern even though it used a trans mount, so that's not an indicator. Hmmmm.... maybe it is though! I used the 63 Classic T-96 on a 79 multi-pattern bell. Only difference was the diameter of the front bearing retainer (smaller on the T-96). I drilled an old SR4 retainer to fit the T-96 and it worked fine. The retainer centers the trans -- I had to be careful drilling new holes in it, and just got lucky! I have an older bell to check with, just have to locate the trans now. -------------- Date: Wed, 27 Feb 2008 17:08:07 -0500 (EST) From: adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Sandwich Maker) i've forgotten - does your car have the rear mount on the bell or the tranny? the t96 pattern changed that year [iirc the lower bolts moved - down 1"]. i don't know of any other differences on the tranny nose between the t96 and car t14. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
