That's what I'm > saying, and I'm sticking to it! All my cars the lamp sockets are fussy. They scoop water off the ground and corrode. Repair is "obvious" (clean, sandpaper, etc). Less obvious is that the socket proper presses into the cast pot metal housings, and you can buy them at NAPA (hanging on cards, etc) and press them in. When you get them clean, and replace or wirebrush the bulb bases, pack the socket with ordinary grease, then install the lamp.
