if you're, or anybodyis worried you can swap the bushing over from the Rambler delco too! I had a GM hei with a bad bushing and needed a quick fix. I knocked the bushing out of one of the AMC delcos I had and it went right into the hei. It was not as long as the gm bushing, but diameters were the same. I put the gm hei in a boat that cruised at about 3500-4700rpm. it ran for quite few years on that amc bushing with no issues. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Sandwich Maker) > " From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> > " > " On Tue, 26 Feb 2008, Sandwich Maker wrote: > " > " > the hei gear is different because chevy six cams - gear driven - turn > " > the opposite way from amc. an amc delco gear works. > " > " > " Hmm... then it would make for a bad swap, if the HEI dist uses > " the spiral groove in the shaft to draw oil up it. > > there are lots of hei swaps out there though, mine included [with > the better part of 50k on it]. if this was a problem, wouldn't the > word be out? > ________________________________________________________________________ > Andrew Hay the genius nature > internet rambler is to see what all have seen > adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
