No problem on the cam bearings Joe! I assume you'll use the 65 pump. Routing like the 65 is perfect! There may have been a cam bearing size change in 61 also... I do vaguely remember something about a change about then, don't recall what though. Someone with a Hollander's that covers 61 models should be able to look it up. Kanter is wanting the engine day build code.I alerted them to the change in cams and bearings for the 64-65 change a few years back. Someone had ordered a cam for their 64 and got one without the slot in the #1 journal, and wasn't getting oil to the head. I told him how to reroute the oil lines, then sent Kanter an e-mail. They replied with a thanks, and that they would change their catalog. ----------------- Date: Thu, 21 Feb 2008 18:37:47 -0800 (PST) From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> Thanks for explaining the oil line routing. I'm gonna use the full flow oil pump and filter arrangement that came on my 1965 block. I plan to use the 1963 block now so I guess I will route the oil line like it was routed on the 65 block. I'll have to check my pictures. However, the Kanter web site order sheet does ask for the specific engine number (build date presumably) for 1961 engines when ordering cam bearings so I wonder what sort of change was made in 1961. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
