There is more than 1 way to skin a cat! (or prime an engine) I fill a cannister with oil and use air pressure to blow it into a port (oil light sender usually) From: Frank Swygert <farna@xxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [Amc-list] We have brakes!!!! The distributor is at a right angle to the oil pump and is driven by its own gear, but off the same gear on the cam on the OHV. The cam has to turn in order to drive the pump, so there's no way to prime it with a drill. The L-head pump is directly in-line with the distributor, but you can't prime it either. The drive gear is on the oil pump, the distributor slides into the gear. Try to drive the oil pump and you'll be trying to turn the camshaft and the rest of the engine also. All you'll do is break either the drill or tool, and you don't want to break the end off your tool in that slot on the L-head (no slot or anything to put it in on the OHV). _________________________________________________________________ Shed those extra pounds with MSN and The Biggest Loser! http://biggestloser.msn.com/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
