[Amc-list] Paint Scheme for a '62 Super Plain Jane 6216 Rambler Deluxe

Greetings,

I've acquired a new item unexpectedly (you know, it followed me home and
Mommy let me keep it.sort of)

This is a completely never rusted 2 door sedan, 6 cyl, auto, radio delete
48,000 mile original PlainJane.  The most basic Rambler I've ever owned.

The body is straight with no dents, bumps, rust (of consequence).
Undercarriage is as clean as the top.  Paint is wasted (Aqua wasn't a real
strong color as were all the rest of the lighter metallics).So I just need
to go thru the brakes, get 'er purrin', fix the push buttons (which someone
broke whilst 'fixing' the 'start'.the car cranks as soon as you put the
battery terminal on). Replace the super dried out seat covers (seats are
fine, the covers are simply dry DRY rot..no tensile strength whatever),
replace the dried tires, replace the windshield (anyone got one for me?
61-62.is two door and 4 door Classic the same??).and then paint it.

Today I got this idea.this car is SOOOOOO Plain Jane that spiffin' up the
seats with pretty and fancy covers would look pretty dammed stupid since the
door panels are plain vanilla and NO frills whatever.just as is the
outside.it's the stuff Fleets are made of.

Hey.

FLEET?  Yeah.that's it.a Fleet-Mobile.

How about a Patrol Car.

This is where the question comes in.anyone have any ideas as to 'Fleetize'
this baby?  I thought about a 'Metropolitan' (as in Large city, not
'NashMetropolitan') patrol car a'la Superman series sort of.Inspector
Henderson,  but he always had Ambassadors.and four doors at that.

How about 'Highway Patrol' stuff?  Anyone got DOCUMENTED 2 door Rambler
Police stuff?

I'd be interested in seeing this.

 

I'd consider selling this outright before I started messing with it if
anyone is interested.$1,000 straight up.  This body is PERFECT as far as
rust goes, and after rust, who-the-heck cares about what??  Rust is the
Bugaboo and this body is completely rust free..(includes the cowl.you know,
that heater leaker stuff of which Ramblers outside stored suffer so much
from).If anyone wants to grab it for a grand, I might be able to deliver it
for expences (the car.and I.am in Central Virginia, the car by Richmond and
me Charlottesville).  

 

Anyone got said requested documents or ideas?  If the car had less
'Fleetness', it'd make a good candidate for a 327 with a twin stick (I've
both) and it'd look cool.

 

Well, gang?  What say ye?  Ideas?  Offers?  Trades?  What's out there.
