As a little follow-up it's possible the 70/71 304 were producing 150 net
hp but the 160 or 165 rating for the 2bbl 360 is much later- the earlier
era 360 2bbl was 175 and the 4bbl 195 before the later 70's- coincident
with catalytic converters.
