I know of a franchise operation called Gas Tank Renu; is that what you are thinking of? They have franchisees all over the US; mostly radiator shops. <http://www.gastankrenu.com> One of the Pennsylvania shops, Moyer Fuel Tank Renu, restored the tank for the Charity AMX. <http://www.gas-tank.com> Regarding Pacer gas tanks, there was a DRB covering a thumping or "oilcanning" sound where a rubber (I think) isolator was to be glued in the middle of the top of the tank. This must have been the replacement for the original sound absorbing pad. (I have a copy of the '77-82 repair bulletin compilation book.) --Glen At 05:03 PM 2/11/2008, you wrote: >There is a mail order compnay in the south or mid atlantic area that >renews gas tanks completely in and out, I can not think of the name >but they are well know I am sure you can? google/find it, You didn't >mention what kind of car this was, but the early pacers all had a >round felt sound absorbing pad on top of the tank. it also absorbed >water and rusted out the top of the tanks prematurely, and upon tank >removal and replacement due to rust or the bad baffles, the TSB said >to remove and not to replace it. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
