Sure wished they could get f***ing facts right. The azzhole commentator in the Alabama Police Javelin video mentions in 1972 'the Gremlin was a bust for AMC' when in fact, the Gremlin and Hornet were CARRYING AMC, and production was ramped up due to demand. 94,808 Gremlins were made in 1972, and when you figure a base one was around $2300.00, then went up depending on options, that's $2.2 mil+ in 72 bucks. He made it sound like the Alabama highway patrol 'saved' AMC by buying 50 or whatever cars. That was small potatos, when you consider AMC's fleet sales were huge. I have the figures here somewhere on those, but thousands of cars alone to military, so 50 cars to Alabama was insignificant. Oh well, lots of misinformation out there. I liked the one with the guy driving the while 72 Javelin around the building. When he is not in sight the camera guy is standing there alone in middle of parking lot like dork. Then car comes back, yea. http://video.aol.com/video-search/query/AMC%20JAVELIN/familyFilter/0 _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
