My'83 Eagle wagon had 2.37 gears with the 998 auto and it worked well with the Mexican big 6 that was swapped into it. It felt like an '81 with 258 and 3.08 gears I drove, even with the 225/75/15 tires on mine. (home lifted with an extra main leaf added to the pack)
