I just have to share this with the List.... After some 12 years of not running, new life is surging through this old 232, again. A friend, who happens to be an awesome mechanic, came by to give a hand. After messaging and finessing for about an hour, draining one battery, and almost another, it started. The blue cloud was expected, as we had poured a little oil down each cylinder to aid lubrication. After a few minutes, however, that cloud was GONE. At idle, it was so smooth, you could only barely feel a vibration at idle, regardless of some carburetion issues yet to be approached. The plus of plusses was when he suggested turning on the AC. It blew cold, no squeeling belts or strain on the engine. WOW! What a day! The next step is to rebuild the carb, and this '67 Rebel 550 station wagon should be back on the road, again, after over a decade of retirement. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
