Re: [Amc-list] AMO or AMCRC? or Local?

Bruce,

I think Frank did a good job at summing up the differences in
personalities of the two clubs. I belong to both as well as a local
(well, sort of) club that is a chapter of both. I'm not sure how other
local clubs are, but the one I belong to has a nice balance of both
club's personalities. I encourage you to join both AMO and AMCRC and try
them out.

As far as the Chilton's goes, I know for a fact (the company I work for
publishes them) that they don't currently have anything specific to AMC
prior to the mid-70's (that book isn't model specific either, it covers
all from the mid-70's on) but they do have a book that "covers" all cars
(as in cars made by every company) from 64-71. It's okay for basic work
but doesn't get into much detail. Nothing beats a factory service manual
for that. Besides the places already mentioned, try
http://www.autolit.com and http://www.books4cars.com. I've purchased
manuals from them (as well as Brent Havekost) and I've been happy with
what I got.
