Also keep in mind that use will clear some problems. I never worry too much about erratic operation when getting a car out of storage. The sweep of the arm from fuel movement will clear minor contamination and corrosion. My fuel gauge in my 69 would occasionaly drop to empty while driving when I first drove it. IIRC, this usually happened when it was full, A condition the previous owner likely never subjected it to! It now works fine. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> > The senders are also not hard to clean up and repair. > > The resistance card you can slide 600 grit paper under the delicate wiper > to clean off, then gently rub the resistance card until the wire windings > are shiny where the wiper runs. > > The rest of the thing clean with steel wool and some solvent. > > Unless it's mangled they usually revive just fine.
