AMC (in 1970 at least) used a 10ohm full - 75 ohm empty fuel gauge sender. Ford used a sender with the same range full/empty for the late 60s Mustangs. You should be able to buy a Mustang fuel sender from any classic Mustang parts dealer and it should work.
