Getting rid of the windshield molding is possible but would be either a little expensive or wildly so depending on how you did it. First option would be to have a variation of the windshield gasket with the slit in it to hold the trim made without the slit. I'm not sure exactly how that would look but semi windshield comes to mind. The second, much more expensive way, would be to have a custom windshield made that takes up the gap left for the gasket (you'd still need a seal around it but it would be more like a new car), modifying the pinch weld to move the windshield forward, and making a reveal molding to cover up the pinch weld work. Totally doable but lots of labor involved. Matt imfatdad wrote: > Thanks to all for the information. Am bouncing some things in my head.. the 65 does have a 232. The Hornet a 258 of course. The 78 trans would be preferred, my previous American had the 2sp tranny and I always wished it would/could shift into another gear at speed.. These are different bolt patterns altogether yes?? The 3sp will not bolt to the 232?? A month or so ago I was working on a deal for swapping the 258 to a paint/body guy for some future work.. of course he came back yesterday and said was wanting to do it now.. How about thoughts on chrome around the glass. Can this be eliminated without looking too goofy?? I was thinking about shaving most all chrome off car. > > > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list > > > -- mhaas@xxxxxxx Cincinnati, OH http://www.mattsoldcars.com 1967 Rambler American wagon 1968 Rambler American sedan ================================================================= According to a February 2003 survey of Internet holdouts released by UCLA's Center for Communication Policy, people cite not having a computer as the No. 1 reason they won't go online. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
