Many parts from the Hornet will swap over. The later six will swap in,
but you'll need to use the late transmission also. You could have a
custom driveshaft made and keep the American rear axle, but the Hornet
axle should swap over. Most likely will still need a custom length
driveshaft though. The wiper motor won't swap directly, but you could
probably use it by mounting the electric motor on the vac motor base, or
making a new base plate from sheet metal. It's a little more complicated
than that, but not to much so. Brakes will swap, but you need to swap
everything from the spindle out. I'm not sure if the Hornet has better
drums than the American, but if the Hornet has discs it's a good swap as
long as the rotors are good. Kelsey Hayes style rotors (used in 74) can
be hard to find and cost around $100 each when you do.
