I know exactly how that spring clip goes, but I would not begin to know how to describe its mounting!
Originally they use two per side one on each edge of the pads. I only use one clip per side on the trailing edge only to keep the pads pushed forward in the direction of rotor rotation going forward.
   The pads rattle less this way and the clip that I leave off usually fails or breaks first because of the stress it is under on every stop.
   I'm trying to think how to describe their install.
All I can say is they goe across the tips of the pads where the sit on the bracket. One way the rub the rotor and obviously that is not the way they go!

  Sorry, I just can't think of how to describe it!
