I haven't back read this thread so forgive me if I go over something already covered. There is a very simple fact to using corn for ethanol. The byproduct mash is still completely viable as feed for cattle and our cloven hooved friends... The means for this to occur will quickly fall into place as somone sees the market for this. No, corn is NOT the best source of material to create ethanol, it is simply the most politically correct means right now. That too will likely fall by the way side as the industry figures itself out. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> > > --- Sandwich Maker <adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > you can bet adm is laughing all the way to the bank. > > we're straining > > the corn market just supplying 10% ethanol as octane > > improver > > replacement for mtbe - the dangers of which btw were > > probably > > overblown by the big ag players*. > > I don't think we're "straining" the market when only > 14% of corn is converted to ethanol at present.
