" From: Frank Swygert <farna@xxxxxxx> " " The only difference in all the Borg-Warner OD units is the adapter plate and output shaft for each transmission. The adpater would be easy enough to make on a mill, even a manual one if careful (Tom...). In fact, it might be easier to modify an existing adapter. It depends on how the bolt pattern for the tailshaft of the transmission lines up with the adapter, and/or if a new pattern can be drilled. " " The trans output shaft is a different story. The shaft for the OD is much shorter than the original and splined to fit into the OD unit. Since this is generally a hardened shaft, getting one made would be costly. i'm not sure if they're hardened, but afaik they're made from gear steel, so they're pretty hard to start with. but they're just shafts, with diameters and splines. it might be expensive but not difficult to have them made. perhaps, if we ever get to that point, a run of a dozen or more would help to reduce part cost. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
