Sold my Brothers 80 Mustang coupe 15 years or so ago. Guy wanted me to come down on price, I would not budge, said it was my brothers car and could not come down. I tried to call my brother for him, not home etc; The guy gave me the $2500 so he could test drive it. Rippedit up and down the road in front of my house. He finally caved and bought it, paid the full $2500. Here in WV it is legal to sign a title over to someone and let them deal with it. I did so, it's the last time I will ever do so! The guy never transferred it! He screwed up the signed title and kept calling my brother to meet him to straighten out. My brother drove 50 miles twice and got stood up by the guy! This was about 3 years into the deal! My brother finally got realy ticked, told the guy to meet him at such and such a place, bring $100 for the costs associated with the first two trips and to bring another $100 cause my brothers time was valuable to him! The guy said No. My brother told him that , "well, I know who you are, where you live, and you have my STOLEN 1980 Mustang Coupe"! Woudn't you know it, Next day the guy shows up with $200 and they went to the DMV and transferred everything! As I said I have never left a signed title go again. We go to the DMV that is 3 miles from my house and take care of it, then and there. When I sold the my brothers car I was holding a 2 year old and going anywhere was a PIA. not as big a PIA as that guy turned out to be though -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> > My earlier advice to go to the bank with the buyer > still stands. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
