DUH! Yes of course -- longer pushrods then shims. I was really thinking machining down the rocker supports, but that's a bit too much trouble. Maybe not for Tom J with his Bridgeport... Yeah, I'm jealous! But I have a nice 30x37 shop to work in... ;>

Hold on.
Shimming the rocker shaft moves it upward away from the pushrods. If I shim, and use my original pushrods I will have less preload (if that were possible).
