Balancing brake drums? I don't know never tried it. Years ago I had a 75 Chevy 4X4 and a set of Jeep 6 lug aluminum slots. Well, those slots would not fit on the rear of the Chevy because of the big ring of steel cast into the drum on it's outer edge that protuded out toward the wheel. This ring had several flycut areas in it to balance the drum. Being as I had the wheels and wanted to use them I set those drums up on the brake lathe and machined the rings off the drums removing all the balancing in the process! I never noticed any difference in braking or ride afterwards either... -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> > I have a Harbor Fright bubble balancer which was given > to me along with a couple of balancers missing parts. > If anyone needs any parts, contact me.
