Yup! On mine, my son's, my step daughter's and some friends. I'm not sure 
where they are at the moment (what with moving and tossing everything 
together at the last moment) but I have a set of opening ones. I just bent 
the frame tabs till they stop whistling, or get the side window air 
deflectors for a GMC Typhoon (perfect for my Comanche) and no whistle or 
water comes in.
  There is also a piece of plastic that is held on with plastic rivets that 
is supposed to divert water away from the door frame. When mine came off, I 
would get a shower while driving on the freeway here in Seattle.

they're called VENT WINDOWS and I WANT THEM!  i have a '94
lacking
openable vents.

the xj body had a minor restyling in '97; the doors might still
fit
but i think the contours wouldn't match.

they also went through an evolution in hinges and latches, so
'96 doors
match contours but still may not bolt on.

i've been told that you can take the doors apart and replace the
vent
hardware with later fixed glass.  iirc jim blair on this list
has done
it.
