[Amc-list] speedometer malfunction

speedometer was working when just going under 30mph. then when faster it suddenly dropped to zero and stayed there till I stopped. then when I accelerated again it worked until about 20mph then quit again. now doesn't work at all and the odometer is not increasing. does this sound like cable or gear  or magnet in the speedometer. any help would be appreciated before I start dismantling the dash again. thanks
