what is the weight difference between the 258 I6, and the AMC V8s? I read
500-540 on a few websites; but I wanted to be sure.
Thanks

The six got lightened in 1981 - bringing it into the same or
almost as light as the 304-360 engine.
The 401 fully dressed from what I've read - can weigh in
600+ range since the block is heavier and the crank is Forged.
Thinking of using a V8 ?
The 360 is the best choice for light weight and street power -
it can take 500HP and stay together.
