when dad bought his omni mizer the salesman claimed the 1.7L vw engine
was made in pa, at the vw factory - all american.  yes, it was the
same longblock rabbits got - but pa was an assembly plant only;
drivetrains were always supplied from vw de mexico.

there's a reason car salesmen have their rep...
