I read a Nailhead standard trans article a while back. Not many made, Buicks are luxury cars. Hard to find. There is/was a new bell being made but at the time I researched it the thing was big dollars. Tim Linton is supposed to know where there is/was a 4 speed V8 car that would work. If I had time I would just go get the 4 speed stuff. I know he said the shifter was gone, but I don't give a rat$ A$$ about originality and I could make something work I'm sure... -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Sandwich Maker) > " From: Wrambler242@xxxxxxxxxxx > " > " Simple answer. > " The adapter I have is for a nailhead Turbo 400 to a gen I v8. > " If I can get yet one more adapter for the nailead engine to any assorted o/d > trans I can theoretically build or put said o/d trans against the Gen I v8. > > there were nailheads with sticks. that ought to let you bolt on say > an early '80s mopar rock crusher as was used with 6.2/6.5 diesels, or > an aftermarket [-not- oem] t56, or just about any other stick that has > the familiar gm pattern. > ________________________________________________________________________ > Andrew Hay the genius nature > internet rambler is to see what all have seen > adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
