Hi, Guys: I have two different '62 Classics with sort of leaking fuel filler hoses; both are very dry-rotted and cracking where they are clamped to the tank inlet. Actually, it would be fair to say that all of my cars probably have filler hoses in different degrees of decay, but only two of them are actively leaking when I put gas in the cars. These hoses have a 2" interior diameter, and the end where you screw on the fuel cap has a lip molded into it that the fuel cap bracket screws thru, using sheet metal screws, into the body panel. Yesterday I patched up one with some gasket material and a clamp. It solved for problem for now, but it is just a cheap, ugly patch. The other hose had a chunk fall off of it when I removed the tank, and isn't patchable. I assume that these hoses are no longer available, and the presence of the lip on the top end of the hose means that it will be hard to make do with something else. Anyone else find a fix or solution to the problem? - Justin _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
