[Amc-list] Rambler 327 V8 Pushrod cover question

I just pulled the intake, pushrod cover and valve covers to fix an oil leak.
My question is when I removed the pushrod cover there was a sheetmetal splash shield and spring in the rear section of the valley but none in the front section.  Should there be one in the front as well??
