Snip The plus 40 weights are a trade off. While I agree that a 30 + oil is great for summer time. There is a trade off. Snip I don't agree, it is 114 today, I been driving all day on combination freeway and city, speed limit 75. Typical of my driving, the engine runs measurably cooler 'specially in comparison to "factory recommended winter grade oils for fuel mileage purposes". Been doing it for close to 20 years on brand new and brand new rebuilds and all other engines. I get upwards of 300,000 miles with no oil related problems, but the biggest is, I can see the difference on the heat gauge. The last oil burner I owned was the last N.E. car I owned before I moved out of the snow belt in 1978. At about 800 miles per quart at 100,000 miles I would call it an oil burner. Still looking for 20-W-50, I use it year around. My engines don't use oil between oil changes. This stuff disappeared over night, not tapered off. I don't usually make the word conspiracy appear in my vocabulary but this one is making me think it. John. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
