Without having original emails to look at, the most likely cause is that people are replying to messages to start a new thread instead of just starting with a new email. Mailing list software puts headers in the message that identify what thread they belong to. When you reply to a message, those headers are sent back and the software has no idea it should be a new thread. Also, you can post messages to the list from the AMCyclopedia. An account gets created automatically for everyone who posts to the list but since it doesn't set a password, I'm not sure what type of complications that creates logging in. You may be able to use the forgot password link to reset it but I'm not sure if that works or not. That being said, I can set passwords on the site for anyone who needs that done. Mail me off list and include the user name the site created for you and I'll take care of it. I find the threads get a little jumbled sometimes, making them difficult to follow, but it's better than nothing and it's supported by an active list member (unlike AMX Files). > > > Ross Blair > 69 BBO Javelin 390 > Ottawa, Ont. > -- mhaas@xxxxxxx Cincinnati, OH http://www.mattsoldcars.com 1967 Rambler American wagon 1968 Rambler American sedan ================================================================= According to a February 2003 survey of Internet holdouts released by UCLA's Center for Communication Policy, people cite not having a computer as the No. 1 reason they won't go online. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
