Re: [Amc-list] bill kraft clone

" what crank did they use to get that extra stroke? or
" was it a special one off crank? i would love to build
" a 418. attempt to make it streetable.

iirc it was a billet crank. for ~$3k crower will make you one too...
add another $800-odd for custom forged slugs... polish, balance, and
shotpeen the rods...

" i would love to paint my 65 classic into a super stock
" clone. has the body to suit it i think. how cool would
" that be to build a 418 for it. get the bellhousing and
" clutch linkage to convert it to manual. go slam some
" gears in that sucker??

you'd probably want to hunt up an amc-pattern doug nash [aka richmond]
5 or 6 sp. or maybe you could put the tex racing high nickel cluster
and mainshaft gears in an amc t-10 - but you'd have to keep the amc
input shaft/gear, and you'd have to mill the case out for the larger
diameter s3 cluster shaft...

" do a bill kraft looking paint
" job on it. sounds like a winner to me......
"
" dreamin again. would love it. task at hand now is to
" just get the d@mned thing to be able to drive across
" this friggin small town....

check your shift linkage adjustment!	;^>

if you do go for a fmx, see if you can get it built with a police/taxi
or towing/rv shift calibration.
