Why do you need to replace the cover? The late model chain and gears is a single roller setup, you can use it and the cam button assembly under the stock cover with no problems at all. I'd be hesitant to chaneg the cover to the late model cover as they changed the boss thickness and hole sizes from time to time. The cam button spring was introduced in mid 80's as a cam knock noise bulletin intem. We never replaced an covers that I'm aware of, just installed the new bolt/spring/button. The presure is very low, just enough to keep the cam seated to the rear. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "Duane Hacking" <dhacking@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > > Jim...thanx again for the suggestions.
